Ellsbury and friends beat Orioles

Posted by Brad on September 3, 2007

The Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles last night 3-2.  Jacoby Ellsbury hit his first career home run and also stole second base.  He went 2 for 3 with an RBI.  Dustin Pedroia also continued his astounding rookie campaign going 2 for 4 with a double.  Jon Lester went 6 strong giving up 6 hits, 2 runs and struck out one.

I have been praising Jacoby Ellsbury all year and people have laughed at me.  Now he is getting his shot in the big leagues and is tearing it up, batting .391 in limited playing time.

The Red Sox have to have the best farm system in the entire major leagues.  With Ellsbury, Buchholz, Brandon Moss and guys like Pedroia and Manny Delcarmen, they have to have the best.

I am so excited about the future of this team, it is clearly in good hands.  We have other really good players still on the farm, like Jed Lowrie, the shortstop on the PawSox, who I consider better than Julio Lugo, who is very crappy.

I can’t wait to see the future of this team, as it is very promising.
